CPT Andrew R. Pearson Bracelet (USMA '01)

Andrew R Pearson was born in Worland, Wyoming on October 5, 1975 to parents Ron and Sue. Drew graduated from CM Russell High School in Billings, MT. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Army and served for three years prior to earning an appointment to the US Military Academy at West Point. Drew graduated from West Point in 2001 and married his wife, Jonmarie Pearson, on June 16, 2001. Drew completed the Officer Infantry Basic Course and Ranger Course at Ft. Benning, GA
before his first assignment at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii where he served with Infantry BN 2-5.

Upon his return from his first deployment to Afghanistan he attended the Armored Captain Career Course at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Drew was then assigned to Ft Hood, TX were he deployed with the 7-10 Cavalry Unit to Iraq. After his return to Iraq he was assigned to the 1-22 were he took Company Command of HHC and later deployed with his Unit to Iraq.

On April 30, 2008 Army Infantry Officer, Captain Drew Pearson, was KIA as the result of his vehicle being struck by an IED at the age of 32. Drew was serving his third deployment in Iraq to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas as Company Commander of HHC.

CPT Pearson’s awards and decorations include Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal,
American Champaign Medal, Iraq Champaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Air Assault, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Parachutist Badge and Ranger Tab.

Drew was survived by his wife, Jonmarie Pearson and their four children, Kristopher, Gabrielle, Cheyenne and stepson Daniel. He is also survived by his parents Ron Pearson and Sue Scott. His siblings Heather Smith, Jennifer Pearson, Wayne Scott and Hugh Scott.

Proceeds from the CPT Andrew R. Pearson bracelet will be donated to Legacies Alive in his memory.
