LTJG Morgan Lynn Garrett passed away in a training flight accident on October 23, 2020 when her T-6B Texan II crashed in Foley, Alabama. Her flight instructor, U.S. Navy LT Rhiannon Ross, also passed away as a result of the crash.

For every LTJG Morgan Garrett bracelet sold, $10 will be donated to a fund in Morgan’s name with the USCGA Alumni Association.

Born and raised in Weddington, NC., Morgan was a graduate of Weddington High School in Union County. While at Weddington High School, Morgan was a member of the National Honor Society and captain of both her track and cross-country teams. She led her high school 4x800 relay team to finish first in the winter track and field 2015 state championships.  She graduated in 2019 from the Coast Guard Academy. During her time at USCGA she studied Marine and Environmental Sciences, ran track and field, was co-president of the Aviation Club, and served as the regimental activities officer her senior year.

Morgan will forever be missed for her joyful personality, bringing light and laughter into every room that she entered. She made an impression on every person she met, and will always be remembered for her larger-than-life personality. She inspired others by her passion and drive, always pursuing her goals to the fullest extent. Morgan was truly an incredible woman. Her positivity and energy touched a countless number of others. Morgan’s unforgettable spirit will live on forever through her family and friends.
