$35.00

2LT Andrew Jefferson Hunt, 23, of Austin, TX, passed away in his home at Fort Hood, TX, on 13 September 2016.

2LT Hunt, who reported to Fort Hood's 1st Cavalry Division on August 2, 2016, graduated from the United States Military Academy in May 2015 and commissioned as an Armor officer. He was assigned to 6th Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. After graduating from West Point, he successfully completed the Armor Basic Officer Leaders' Course, the Army Reconnaissance Course, and the Bradley Leader Course. 2LT Hunt was an accomplished scholar majoring in Literature at the Academy. While at the Academy, Hunt also rose through the ranks of the United States Corps of Cadets' Color Guard, commanding the high-profile unit during his Firstie year.

Everyone that knew Andrew knew that, whether behind the gun of an M1 Abrams battle tank, in the hallways and classrooms of Lincoln Hall, or on the West Point Parade Field, he approached everything in his life with unparalleled passion and pride. He was a man of not only grand words and grander thoughts, but also of actions; a Soldier who couldn't be prouder to wear the flag on his right shoulder, and a tanker who thought there was no better job in the world.

2LT Hunt is survived by his parents, Frank and Donna Hunt, and his brother, Kyle Hunt.

Proceeds from the 2LT Andrew J. Hunt bracelet will be donated to Mission 22 in his memory.
