Army Pfc. Matthew C. Bowe, 19, of Coraopolis, Pa.; died February 19, 2007 serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died Feb. 19 in Baghdad of wounds suffered when the vehicle he was in was struck by an improvised explosive device. Also killed were Army Sgt. Shawn M. Dunkin and Army Pfc. Adare W. Cleveland. His awards and decorations include the Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Combat Medical Badge. He is survived by his parents. He was 19.
