SSG Michael H. Simpson

from $35.00

Mike was such a funny, tender, and devoted man. He loved his family to the fullest, enjoyed of life, delighted in his children, had the greatest integrity, and a love of doing rather than studying.

Mike’s desire to join the service began at a time when he was aimlessly drifting. Special Forces became a patriotic passion for Mike. He was deeply committed to defending the freedoms of our country and helping those people of other cultures whom he met.

Mike could talk about walking around the block and make you laugh! We have many memories of some of his stories and antics. Riding the lawn mower like a surf board, holding on to an ice cream truck while riding his skateboard, painting a rust spot on the car with spray paint, sweeping leaves out of the house with a leaf blower, throwing his 3 year old son 6 feet in the air. There's so much more!

Mike loved spending time in Rhode Island with his family. It was a family vacation spot and tradition.  We would go every summer.

Thanksgiving was Mike’s favorite holiday because it entailed spending time with family and friends, great food and no obligation for gift giving.  He felt it was a true holiday

Mike had such a great combination of wit and tenderness.

Mike, for all his fun-loving nature loved to write poetry. He wooed his wife Krista by writing poetry to her. I knew their relationship was serious when she told me he was writing poetry for her. He had a serious side that could be obscured by his humorous remarks and antics until you got to know him.

After Mike’s time in the service, he had plans to finish college, love his wife passionately, spend more time with family.

Proceeds from the SSG Michael H. Simpson bracelet will be donated to Legacies Alive.
