1st Lt. David Mark Byrd Remick, 26, of Beaufort, S.C., formerly of Huntersville, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2014, at his home. He was born on Sept. 3, 1987, in Pulaski Co., Arkansas to Mark Alan Remick and Kathryn Byrd Remick. David was a 2006 graduate of SouthLake Christian Academy and a 2011 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He went on to serve our country as an officer in the Marine Corps., just completing a tour in Afghanistan. In addition to his parents, survivors include his siblings, Scott Jernigan, Samuel Remick, Thomas Remick: grandparents, Mark and Patricia Remick of Alleghany, Pa. and Sam and Barbara Byrd of Smithfield. He will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery, Washington, D.C. The name David means beloved. He was a beloved son, brother and friend to so many. He was always ready to serve others with a smile and a helping hand.
