Steel Hearts Foundation

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that honors fallen service members and first responders through memorial bracelets and memorial pages. Our Memorial Wall shares stories of the heroes we honor. Each bracelet is laser-engraved with a hero's name and made in-house.

What we do

When you buy a bracelet, you fund our mission: making memorial bracelets and giving them free to Gold Star families and the people who loved these heroes. Some heroes' pages name a charity the family designated in the past, and Steel Hearts continues to support those organizations.

Founded in 2014 by Joe and Lindsey Wiseman. We are a small team. We make our memorial bracelets in-house from laser-engraved steel.

In 2026 so far, 1,841 memorial bracelets have gone to families free, after 646 in 2025. (As of October 2026.)

How it works

From a name to a bracelet.

Step 1A hero is submitted

A family member, a classmate or a friend sends us a name through the Honor a Hero form. Anyone can.

Step 2We get the record right

Rank, name, dates, unit and the facts of their service are checked against official sources, and with the family wherever we can reach them.

Step 3The bracelet is made

The art is designed, reviewed and approved, then laser-engraved on steel in-house. Both sizes, one hero, exact.

Step 4The family receives theirs free

Bracelets go to the family at no cost. Anyone else can order one from the hero's page, and that page says what the purchase supports.

Families first

A hero's page is theirs. We check with the family before we publish what we can, and we take a page down when a family asks.

Names exact

Every name, rank and date is checked before it is engraved. If a family tells us something is wrong, we fix the record and remake the bracelet.

Honest about the money

Buying a bracelet is a purchase, not a donation. Each hero's page states what that purchase supports. Our returns are public on the Finances page.

No donor lists, ever

We do not publish or sell the names of the people who support us, and we never share a family's contact details.

Who we are

The board.

Steel Hearts Foundation is the public name of Steel Hearts Inc, a 501(c)(3) public charity recognized by the IRS since April 2015.

As of September 27, 2026, our board has four directors: Joseph Wiseman, President; Chris Marti, Vice President; Kristin Seraydarian, Secretary; and Alex Kim, Treasurer. Board service is voluntary. Joseph Wiseman also serves as paid Executive Director. Compensation is reported on our annual IRS return.
